Belize at the Giga Connectivity Forum – Geneva, Switzerland
From July 8–10, Dr. Leroy Almendarez, Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy & Logistics (MPUEL), joined Belize’s delegation at the Giga Connectivity Forum in Geneva.
The forum brought together representatives from over 40 countries to advance the global goal of connecting every school to the Internet and closing the digital divide in education.
 
As part of Belize’s efforts to improve national infrastructure and service delivery, Dr. Almendarez joined Mrs. Dian Maheia, Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, in discussions focused on:
✅ Progress in school connectivity
✅ Challenges faced by countries
✅ Sharing strategies and practical solutions
